Truls currently serves as Chairman and Project Leader of the Christian Resource Center (Kristent Ressurssenter), and as Deputy Party Leader of the Christian Conservative Party (Konservativt) and sits as a member of the County Council of Finnmark, Norway.

Background:
Faith

In 2016, at 34 years old, Truls experienced a life-transforming Christian conversion that became a defining turning point in both his personal and political worldview. From this point forward, faith in Jesus Christ formed the foundation of his values, family, leadership, and public engagement.

Raised by atheist parents, Olufsen-Mehus’ journey from a secular background, to a committed Christian, brought with it an impartation of new convictions focusing on human dignity, responsibility and truth.

Truls’ Christian story started when a young Lutheran priest and his family moved to Truls’ hometown of Hammerfest, Norway; the northernmost town in the world. With shared interests, they started playing video and table top games, and cards together. As friendship grew, their conversations deepened.

A few years later, after hundreds of questions and discussions, Truls was challenged to read the Gospel of Mark. From the Bible, God revealed His Love and Truth to Truls about Truls! Reading the New Testament led to accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior and being baptized resulting in a journey of revelation and repentance and a new relationship with the Holy Spirit.

This changed everything.

Background: Professional

Truls Olufsen-Mehus has extensive leadership and strategic experience. He previously served as Head of Business in Hammerfest City Hall, with responsibility for economic development, strategic planning, and cooperation between public authorities and local businesses. He has worked nationally and internationally as a Marketing Specialist, developing expertise in strategic communication, branding, positioning, and growth.

He also has a background as a serial entrepreneur, having founded and led multiple small companies, organizations, and initiatives across different sectors. Truls startet his first business as a 20 year old young man, investing in the stockmarket and in real estate. He later experienced the loss of two of his startup businesses in 2008 due to the finance crisis.

As Chairman and Project Leader of Kristent Ressurssenter, Truls works at the intersection of faith, culture, politics, and society. The organization develops books, educational resources, media projects, and research-based analyses aimed at strengthening Christian identity, family life, parental responsibility, and value-based societal engagement. The work is particularly focused on children, young people, and parents navigating the ideological and cultural pressures of modern Western society.

Background:
Political

Truls serves as Deputy Leader of Konservativt, Norway’s Christian conservative party. In this role, he is actively involved in policy development, public debate, political communication, and strategic leadership.

His political engagement is rooted in a Christian worldview of the human person and society. He advocates freedom of conscience, strong families, resilient local communities, responsible government, and social and economic policies firmly anchored in enduring values.

Truls was the first Norwegian politician to raise a sustained public challenge to modern gender ideology. Since 2019, he has become one of Norway’s most prominent political voices opposing identity politics and the ideological influence of the Pride movement.

Olufsen-Melhus joined politics in 2018, as a member of the Christian Democratic Party, and was immediately voted into the municipal council in 2019. In 2020, he was elected county party leader. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he became one of two Norwegian politicians to speak publicly and consistently against what he regarded as disproportionate and draconian restrictions. In 2021 he decided not to get the Covid-shots which resulted in losing a top marketing job in the Netherlands. In 2024, he left the Christian Democratic Party and joined Konservativt - a conservative Christian party. In 2021 and 2025 he ran for parliment but has not been elected; yet!

Drawing on combined experience in entrepreneurship, public leadership, Christian ministry, communication, and politics, Truls brings a distinct and principled perspective to contemporary social and political debates. His work is driven by a commitment to long-term solutions grounded in truth, personal responsibility, freedom, and the inherent dignity and value of every human life.

Truls is the only Norwegian to have attended the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) every year since its founding in 2023.  ARC is one of the world’s largest gatherings of conservative leaders, thinkers, entrepreneurs, and cultural figures. Its purpose is to contribute to the renewal of Western civilization by restoring responsibility, meaning, strong communities, and the Christian values that have shaped the West. Initiated by Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and Baroness Philippa Stroud, ARC presents itself as a constructive alternative to institutions such as the World Economic Forum.

Truls believes that many local and national challenges are ultimately connected to broader global developments. These include unchecked globalization, climate ideology, gender ideology, identity politics, abortion, crony capitalism, cultural Marxism, and the collapse of trust in society’s most important institutions.  He is convinced that the rejection of God has left a moral and spiritual vacuum that destructive ideologies have sought to fill:  the greatest cost borne by families and children.

Truls’s political mission is therefore clear: to defend children, strengthen the family, restore trust and responsibility, and work for a society once again grounded in what is good, true, and beautiful.
